Government won’t take action against Musharraf: Gillani

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani addressed Turkish daily that his government will not take any action against former president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf as long as he stays away of politics. Gillani said that the government “wanted a general reconciliation in the country and should focus on important issues such as terrorism, poverty, hunger, disease, health and education”.
“Now, he [Musharraf] keeps a low profile. If he is not politically active, then we would not want to open too many fronts,” he said.
He also said that “We are not talking to people who are militants. We are only talking to the people who have denounced terrorism,”

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain meet Pervez Musharraf

PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain is reported to have held a meeting with former president Pervez Musharraf here on Friday.
The meeting, according to sources, came against the background of a discussion held on Thursday by a group of senior leaders of the PML-Q headed by Hamid Nasir Chattha on the issue of party leadership with Chaudhry Shujaat and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
Sources said a proposal to change the party leadership before the completion of the incumbent leaders’ tenure was discussed.

Musharraf denies his return in politics

Musharraf has no plan to return in politics

Former President of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff Pervez Musharraf denied that he has any plan to return in politics or he is going to form any political party.
He also stated that he is passing his time by playing sports and game and he is also administering his new farm house which is situated in Chak Shahzad. He has plans to shift to Chak Shahzad from army house.
He also stated that he got offers from international universities of lectureships but he has not finalized any thing yet. He is on tour to Lahore these days where he will spend few days and he is also suppose to attend a marriage ceremony at Lahore.

Pervez Mushrraf left for Karachi for ten days

I have found this news in a corner of a local news paper that former president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf has left for Karachi where he will stay in his daughter’s house for ten days, it is not mentioned if he has been provided any kind of security by government and why he went to Karachi.
