Rasta FM 88.8 Radio channel of traffic police Lahore
May 7th, 2009 by The Online Reporter

Provisional capital Lahore’s Traffic Police department has launched a radio channel named Rasta FM 88.8 for the citizens which broadcasts very informative programs for its listeners regarding traffic rules and road safety.
Most interesting thing in this radio is that the RJs and presenters of these broadcasts are those graduated traffic wardens which were hired 2 years back in traffic police department.
Currently test transmission of this radio channel in on air in three languages, 65 percent programs are being broadcasted in Urdu, 30 percent and 5 percent are in Punjabi and English respectively.
Overall it is a brilliant effort by city traffic police Lahore Punjab and credit goes to traffic wardens like Rabia , Fatima and all other RJs who are providing useful information to citizens about traffic rules and road safety in very light and entertaining manner , entertaining? YES! You can also listen to your favorite songs on Rasta FM 88.8. Good Job traffic police, it would definitely buildup a friendly relationship between traffic police and citizens.

hi i have few submission in brief
During rush hours it is better that our traffic warden control the traffic than depending on traffic signals as they cannot see which side has longest line of vehicles.
Ensure that temprary billboards etc do no hide the signals
Avoid mentioning that so and so road is blocked due to security check in my opinion it is a security breech.
Please do some thing with ppl fond of having pressure horn in their even expensive vehicles(Shokhay)
I many a time see wardens busy in sending sms while traffic is entangled.the use of cell fone during duty be banned. If you dont agree with my observation I can send pictures to you and in news papers also so it is a record
Do arrange some cold water for those who are standing under sun and performing duties cant we give them a good water bottle to carry water?
regards

Hi friends of Rasta FM. I must congratulate you all on launching such a useful radio channel for the traffic awareness in Lahore. I am a regular listner of this channel especialy while I drive to and from my office everyday. A god combination of entertainment, useful information on traffic and above all a very light discussion by anchors. In this age of government inefficiency such a quality radio channel by government is indeed very surprising. Keep up the god work and hats to all the good anchors of the FM Rasta…
