Sheikh Saleh’s Fatwa against TV channel Owners

September 20th, 2008 by The Online Reporter

Sheikh Saleh the Saudi Aalim and the well-known religious scholar and chief justice of the supreme judicial council of Saudi Arabia gave fatwa against TV channel owners, what comes in you mind after reading the above news? Does Islam teach us this kind of lesson regarding humanity? Are we allowed to kill anyone, anywhere as being a Muslim? What is a duty of an Aalim? Should he teach people this kind of lessons? Isn’t it a duty of an Aalim to guide people properly and convey the actual message of Islam which is based on peace and humanity?
On the other hand TV channels of Muslim countries should also feel their responsibility and avoid broadcasting such programs which are contradicting to Islamic culture and society. Problem is at both ends, both sides are proving themselves a sort of extremists which is not good in any way.
